Over 40 members joined us this evening for a talk by Dr Ric Parker on Models for Industrial Innovation. Dr Ric Parker was Director of Research & Technology, Rolls-Royce Group from January 2001 to March 2016. Since then, Dr Parker has retired but continues to remain as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering. In 2014, he was voted European CTO of the Year.
During the evening, Dr Parker engaged the audience with many examples on how innovation was key in driving progress in industry, and shared his experience on pushing the boundaries of Rolls-Royce’s technology development, with himself having played a large role in supporting Rolls-Royce’s University Technology Centre models.
